Elliott is a founding member of Longacre and responsible for its investments. Before Longacre, he was a member of H.I.G. Capital’s private equity team in London. Elliott has extensive investment experience completing a wide range of transactions in a variety of industries with a particular focus on industrials, business services and media.
Prior to joining H.I.G., Elliott was part of the investment banking team at J.P. Morgan Cazenove advising UK industrial clients.
Elliott graduated from University College London with a degree in Economics.


Stani Schmidt-Chiari

Stani is a founding member of Longacre and responsible for its investments. Before Longacre, Stani was at H.I.G. Capital covering the UK and German speaking countries for private equity investments. Prior to that that he worked at Apax Partners focusing on financial and business services companies. Stani started his career at Lehman Brothers in leveraged finance.
Stani graduated from University College London with a degree in East European Studies and Economics and holds an MBA from INSEAD. He is a native German speaker, is fluent in English and French and speaks conversational Russian.


Jonas Rave

Prior to joining Longacre as a Director, Jonas was Director of Business Strategy for Ampush, a fast-growing technology company based in San Francisco. Previously, he worked at H.I.G. Capital covering the UK and German speaking countries for private equity investments. He started his career in the Consumer & Retail M&A team at Goldman Sachs in London.
Jonas holds a first class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He is a German native and speaks conversational French and Italian.


James Mitchell

James joined Longacre from KPMG where he headed UK mid-market private equity coverage. Previously, he worked at H.I.G. Capital covering the UK and Ireland for private equity investments. James started his career in the corporate finance team of the Wilton Group, a family office services boutique.
James holds a degree in Law from the University of Leeds and a Masters in International Relations with Islamic Finance from Durham University.


Nick Hallwright

Nick is an Associate Director at Longacre. Nick joined from Waterman Capital, a mid-market New Zealand private equity firm, where he spent two years as an Associate and subsequently Investment Manager. Nick started his career in the investment banking team at UBS in Sydney, Australia, where he worked across the industrials and leveraged finance teams.
Nick holds a degree in Law and a degree in Commerce (Finance) from the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

Stewart Cantley

Operating Partner

Stewart led the buy-in for Dycem allowing the existing owner manager to retire. Under his leadership the business has doubled in size and profits. Stewart started his career with large US multi-national Cummins engine company, following which he spent the last 25 years with B2B service sector and manufacturing businesses (equipment rental, washroom services, textile rental, recruitment and medical devices). He led several highly successful private equity backed businesses including Warner Howard (sold to PHS) and Laundrycraft (sold to Berendsen).

His expertise lies in management processes and structure together with increasing shareholder value through the development of international and national sales operations.

David Byrne

David joined VFE from Brush Group where he was global head of the £130m turnover electrical machine division. Here he had global responsibility for new generator sales and full lifetime servicing including all aftermarket operations, inclusive of service, parts distribution and procurement.

Prior to Brush David spent time at Wolseley as Commercial Director and Aston Martin Lagonda where he focused on aftermarket services.

Brian Quarendon

Brian is an Engineer by background with a long history in the sector starting his career with RACAL and Marconi before he became CEO of Industrial Acoustics Company a £400m turnover manufacturing business with operations across the USA and Europe. He has experience in a wide range of sectors including: Oil and Gas, Defence, Energy, Construction and Materials Handling.

Chris Huckle

Chris was a Partner at PwC consulting and an Exec at IBM where he delivered recovery, growth, and transformation programmes for major multi national organisations. Since then he has worked with companies of all sizes as CEO, Owner and Investor to fundamentally transform their performance.

Phil Hatton

Operating Partner

Phil is an experienced operational leader and has held a number of COO and senior transformational roles with PayZone, CloudXL, Barclays and Deloitte. He has a deep understanding of operational and transformational technology, development and compliance. Phil has worked extensively with Management on a number of investments, improving profitability, operational performance, and internal systems.

Simon Smith

Operating Partner

Simon is an entrepreneurial business leader focused on the technology, wholesale and distribution sector. Simon started Actebis Distribution (UK) Ltd from a green field and was part of the Management Team of Ingram Micro (UK) Ltd that turned a £650m turnover business from continual losses to profitability within 12 months. More recently, Simon completed an MBI of EET Europarts and exited to FSN Capital. Together with Longacre Group, Simon is actively looking for an acquisition in the distribution and wholesale sector.
