Pre-Camp Email #11 — Visiting Days

Date published: May 16th, 2017 | By Matthew

Hello 2017 Parents!

I am writing about the two Visiting Days this summer.

There will be one visiting day for Session 1 and another for Session 2. There will be no visiting day for Session 3 / MiniCamp.

  1. Session 1 — Sat., Jul. 8th
  2. Session 2 — Sat., Jul. 29th

In both cases, Visiting Day is the second Saturday of the session.

You may pick up your child anytime after 9:00 a.m. Please return your child to the campsite by 5:00 p.m. if s/he will be eating dinner with us, or by 7:00 p.m. if you will be doing dinner on your own. It's also possible that you will be able to return your child to us in while we're in Harrisburg at the movies, but we won't know our plans until closer to the time.

Typically, parents spend some portion of the day on the farm — touring, visiting, meeting friends, etc. — and some portion off the farm — going out to eat, going to Little Buffalo State Park, going to Harrisburg, etc. The choice is up to you. Your child will probably have an opinion.

"Adopting" other farmers is permitted, but only with prior permission from both sets of parents.

We request that you notify you us ahead of time if you plan to visit. If your child will be here for six weeks, you are welcome to visit both days.

To families who cannot make it on Visiting Day, I want to stress that we will take good care of your child that day. More than half the community is not visited by family on Visiting Day, so your child will have plenty of people to hang out with and we'll make sure there's plenty to do.
